A child’s-eye view of Holy Week

Many Holy Week activities at Saint Andrew’s are wonderful for children. Here’s a rundown of what’s appropriate for the little ones:

Sunday, April 13. The Palm Sunday procession, which will be followed by Sunday school.

Thursday, April 17. The Maundy Thursday agapé meal and footwashing in the Family Room at 6 p.m.

Friday, April 18. 7:30 p.m. Stations of the Cross, for those 7 and up.

Saturday, April 19. Egg-dyeing in the Family Room at 11 a.m. (Mom and/or Dad are invited too; be sure to bring a dozen very hard-boiled eggs and cardboard, not Styrofoam, cartons for drying the eggs.)

Sunday, April 20. The Easter Vigil and Easter Day sunrise service at 6 a.m. Any child who comes to this very special service gives the Easter Bunny a chance to finish his job at home. Who knows? He might even make a surprise appearance at Saint Andrew’s afterwards. And of course there is always the Choral Eucharist at 10.
