Visiting St. Andrew’s during Covid-19 Restrictions
We are currently holding worship services online. Our clergy and lay readers conduct services from their homes. Wherever you are in your journey of faith, you are welcome to join us!
When we use Holy Eucharist Rite II during online services, clergy will have the bread and wine present without consuming them, since we at home will also keep a “eucharistic fast.”
What to Expect When You Visit St. Andrew’s
When we meet in person, as you arrive at St. Andrew’s, you’ll be welcomed by our greeter and ushers, who will hand you a printed service bulletin. The greeter and ushers will answer questions you may have. You’re welcome to sit anywhere you like. You’ll notice that some people are a bit dressed up and others are very casual—whatever is comfortable for you is fine. Children are very welcome, and you may hear their joyful noises during the service. Click on the “Children and Youth” tab for information about Sunday School.
Our service begins with the “Liturgy of the Word,” which means scripture, prayers and a sermon. The second part of the service is the “Eucharist” or Holy Communion. Wherever you are in your journey of faith, you are welcome to participate and to receive the bread and wine, or, if you prefer, a blessing. Our 8:00 am service is spoken, the 10:00 am service includes organ or piano music, choir and congregational singing of hymns.
Following the service, you’re invited to join us for coffee and treats in our Fellowship Court. This is an important part of our morning! We’d love to get to know you.
